Preening Mallard
For a while it seemed that all the birds were busy trying to make themselves look good for the camera LOL.

The light still in the wrong direction, so some PP work needed again.

Lovely picture of this young lady preening D. I am amazed at how often I have a photo opportunity and the sun is in just the wrong direction. I can't help myself, I go ahead and take it anyway (lol). Excellent work!!!

Some of the best opportunities come when the light is wrong Delia LOL. Well done with this one .

According to one of the seminars I took at the Crane Festival, sun off to one side is perfect, anywhere from 30 to 90 degrees. Sun coming straight over your shoulder makes for a flat image, while sun coming in from one side gives you shadows that can help define the image as of a 3D object. Here the angle may have been more than 90 degrees though, so then you get backlight issues to deal with, too much shadow and the brights in the wrong places. Oh well. Still, a beauty preening is always sweet to see |=)|

Nice shot Delia , your camera FujiFilm HS50 is a very good camera with powerful zoom , well seen and taken ;)
