Preening
This Carrion Crow sat for a few minutes preening, so continuous mode allowed me to get several poses (one of which is set for an upcoming SF entry LOL)

I've had to lighten the image somewhat to get some detail underneath, but not too pleased with the result, just doesn't look that natural somehow.

A shame you had to turn him so pale to bring out those details. You did well just to capture all those details. And the pose if fascinating. Well done, even if you wish you'd done even better. I also agree that a higher ISO might have helped. Maybe even just up to 400, which still shouldn't be noticeably grainy. And maybe bumping to a +1 exposure so as to re-correct for what the camera "corrects" for all the light background. ... Ah! I see you did have the +1. That may explain how you did manage to get so much black detail in the first place.

Yes, a little more ISO would probably help, although the amount depends on what the camera can handle without lots of noise.

I missed this one Dee, an excellent capture.

Monopod: They are very light and colapse like a telescope. So it's ajustable as low as 18".
You can rest it on the floor or chair. Since one can shake as much sitting down
as standing, it should help. When you're out in the field, just rest the whole rig
right on your shoulder as you walk. Try it, you'll like it. No, I don't
manufacture them. lol
