Prickly perch ! - Coal Tit - Periparus ater (Periparus ater)

This little coal tit shot down and perched on this bramble stem but soon realised getting both feet down wasn't possible due to the very sharp thorns.
At first I thought it only had one leg but once I could examine the shot on the computer it was obvious putting both feet down was not going to be easy plus you can just see the end of a claw as it held its leg up.
I'm not quite sure how sensitive their feet are seeing some things they manage to perch on but this one certainly wasn't comfortable and quickly moved on in a matter of seconds none the worse for its mistake.

How tough their feet must be. A beautiful closeup John!

Lol, this handsome Tit seems to know just how to navigate its prickly perch though. Great close-up John!

Cheers everyone. I found myself wincing every time it moved on that prickly perch.
Take care all.
John
