Purple Sandpiper (Calidris maritima)

Found two Purple Sandpipers mixed in with the Turnstones on our local Beach to-day, had a terrible time with Dog walkers who seem to delite in setting there Dogs on Feeding Waders.

Great image Jim!! no what you mean its the same at Cramond, just got to live let live. You certainly know your birds never even heard of a purple sandpiper let alone spot one. cheers
 
Well spotted and captured, JT. Only ever seen these as distant specks in the archipalago and wouldn't have known what they were without expert help.
