Purple Sandpiper

A short festive break up in the Highlands, didn't quite work out as planned, mild weather and illness put paid to things for the first time in 5 visits, but that's life :)
Purple Sandpiper, not a bird I've seen much of, this solitary individual was hiding amongst a group of Turnstone on the harbour wall, so only found by accident :) - Mike

LOL some people are never satisfied with Scottish weather!;) Sorry to hear you weren't well for your break though Mike - a real b****er when that happens!

Some surprises are the best though, aren't they. And you've a super picture of this sandpiper lad. I've a real soft spot for them.

May I wish you and your family a very happy 2019.
