Two super captures Mags...I feel like celebrating every time I see one of these heavily persecuted ducks...Cracker lass!!!

lovely full frontal action, this guy does not look shy and well done Mags great image tfs....Such a shame these Ducks are persecuted in Spain and I believe in some other countries as well! They are so similar to the White headed Duck that I was lucky to get some pictures of in Spain about five years ago now.

Absolutely dead on focus and inline with his body!!! Marvelous capture with rich colors!! Stunning post!!! Have a great day!!!!

Amazing water-level view of this blue-billed beauty. This is so impressive Margaret!!!! TFS!!!!!

Lovely male ruddy duck Margaret, I used to see several of these where i used to live but they have been widely culled to prevent cross breeding and protect the similar white headed duck; such a shame as the displaying males are such characters.

There are some in Europe who would put black flags out when they see this guy, since he's a "foreigner", and a highly sexually active one, so hybridizing lots of local ducks. But he wasn't introduced by humans, didn't come here through "trafficking". Ruddy Ducks flew to Europe on their own steam, I think, or possibly got blown over here in storms. So the way I see it is he's just adding to the biodiversity, and doing a colorful job of it |=)|
