Pygmy Cormorants
watercolour on Fabriano paper (27x35 cm)
This was my contribution to a birding event called 'Wild Goose Festival' in Hungary at the end of November (see more of this event in my blog: http://kokayart.blogspot.com/2007/11/7th-wild-goose-festival-took-place-last.html)
This painting was a special price for finding the rarest bird during the event (this year a Brent Goose; don't be shocked, this species is a real rarity here).
Habitat
frozen river
Location
Danube, Budapest
Date taken
November 2007
Scientific name
Phalacrocorax pygmaeus
Equipment used
watercolour on paper

Paschalis

Yum, love the poses, and the patterns, and the round forms of the cormorants. It was a lucky individual who won this!
