"They can break yer arm you know!" (Cygnus atratus)

Ever heard that daft saying? I've yet to see a 'Martial Arts' trained swan... but I digress.

Here is a Black Swan... native to Australia maybe, but this Antipodean Avian lives at Martin Mere.

Wonder if it's a 'Black Belt' also?

Whatever - a beautiful creature!

Only if you don't feed them on demand! :'D A splendid image, those reflections in the water are like molten silver, great work!

I had a pet one a few years ago - its wing had been broken - and it would belt me one in the shin with its good wing if I was too slow with the food - but it never tried to break my arm. :'D Mind, I got a few good bruises on my shin, they do pack a bit of a punch, but you have to ask for it - like eating your sandwich yourself instead of giving it to them... :-O

Cheers for the comment Rose - nice to see an Aussie comment on a 'native' too - it ain't native to us, so a treat for me to have got that shot.

As to the reflections - yep, I'm very happy for the shot to have turned out so well.

As to 'em packing a punch... I'll be careful - I was a student of two different styles of Karate and Wing-Chun Kung Fu at one time - but I'm not risking it!
:D

Stunning picture of the Aussie one, mind you they are breeding in Europe as if they are native, getting cygnets :D :t: :D When they fly they show their stunning white wings !!!
