Raccoon (procyonid)

A beautiful Raccoon in my woods in the backyard. They are so cute and never vicious and I haven't ever seen one with rabies. They get a bad name. Though I have heard if you have chicken they will kill them and consume them. They use to say they were related to Bears but that isn't the case as of now.

Well mine destroy my bird feeders ;)

I gotta admit though this is one beautiful head on image of this Raccoon Daniel! I have never seen one in daylight hours though.

My goodness, they look so cute in pictures. Gorgeous frontal view with crisp focus, colors, lighting, detail, eye contact, and setting. Exceptional Daniel!

what a splendid photo of this cute raccoon, Daniel, top class closeup showing splendid details of its fur, top notch, many thanks for sharing.

my last experience with raccoons was a few years ago on Long Island. I had a room booked in a guesthouse, which had to be closed two days before arriving because of a raccoon invasion LOL

He's so cute! He doesn't look mischievous at all....although he is wearing that mask. Great photo.

Beautiful close-up. Cute and hungry. LOL.

Oh yes, they definitely kill chickens. As do skunks. We had to put flanged metal collars on the posts that supported the net perches on our chicken houses, otherwise the skunks and raccoons would climb up the posts and rip bits off roosting chickens at night. But with those collars in place, we had no more quarrels with either species |=)|
