Rainbow Bee-eater
Mike Bouette

Rainbow Bee-eater (Merops ornatus)

Taken at Nullagine river near Marble Bar,WA.
It is hard to do justice to this bird in flight. When the sun shines through the wing panels it is spectacular but it is difficult to take a photo when the bird is between you and the sun and still get the exposure right! And yet we try!
Habitat
Riverside woodland
Location
Nullagine river, nr Marble Bar, Western Australia
Date taken
September 2015
Scientific name
Merops ornatus
Equipment used
Nikon D4 + Nikkor 80-400 mm
I would be more than happy with a shot like that Mike. My flight shots are hopeless.

Well done.
