Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus)

This noisy, aggressive, destructive species is not native to Western Australia. Years ago some very stupid people (some say from the University of WA) released some and they now number in the thousands. They are a serious threat to fruit growers and some 30,000 have been culled but the population is still much too high. They also bully other species such as Black Cockatoos and parrots out of their nest holes.

They're so pretty though, aren't they Alex. There can't be many colours missing from their palette, can there.

A super picture you've got - well done lad.
