Rather tatty!

I am not sure if this a rather tatty fritillary or another type of butterfly.

It landed on my sunhat when I was in the garden this afternoon - OH took this with his phone, so not great quality.

I am always impressed with phone pictures these day. Lovely close-up of a beautiful butterfly. TFS Kits!

I think those dark bars at the front of its wings are those of a Large Tortoiseshell Butterfly. It looking so tatty now makes me wonder if their first summer generation has somehow made it through the winter ...?
