Reach for the sky! (Rupornis magnirostris)

Another somewhat silly shot for Saturday. This one's today's lifer of the set: Roadside Hawk. I got better shots of other Roadsiders later ... along the roads, of course (where else?!). This one was atop a tall tree at the far end of the forest patch at the university campus. We thought we might get closer along the trail, but s/he either spotted us or was spooked by something else or maybe just got hungry. S/he got restless, started stretching wings, and soon thereafter took off.
