Red-backed Scrub-Robin
Often called White-browed Scrub-Robin and formerly classified in the thrush family (Turdidae) but now considered a member of the old world flycatcher family (Muscicapidae). Scrub-robins are in the genus "Cercotrichas" (formerly "Erythropygia") and are sometimes called "Bush Chats." They have an expressive cocked-up tail. Compared to the Kalahari Scrub-Robin (Cercotrichas paena) I posted earlier, the white wing-bars and faint breast streaking help identify this bird. This is presumably the race "C. l. ovamboensis" which is grayer above and has reduced rufous in its tail.
