Red-backed Shrike Keeping Watch (Lanius collurio)

This is the third picture of about fifty I have just taken. While the young birds are being fed in the blackberry bush, this parent is keeping watch on his favorite twig.

These are beautiful shrikes, don't you think PW... you're so lucky to have them breeding near you.

Thanks, Delia. Yes, I have had some health issues, but now I hope to be able to participate on a more steady basis.
