Red-backed Shrike
I had a lot of fun photographing juvenile Red-backed Shrikes that day. I got so close that I had difficulty fitting the birds in the frame (lots of headless or tailless shots) and I almost felt I could have stroked them. :-)
This was taken from a bit further away but I like the pose. It's different from the others and the bird looks a bit like a small falcon (to me at any rate) especially the eyes and the bill.

Oh yes - I can see the resemblance to a falcon, Graham. Very nicely posed and detailed study.
