Red-billed Tropic Bird (Phaethon aethereus) magnificent frigatebird (Fregat
This was a thrilling sight, please accept apologies for the image quality this is a crop, the moment when a Red-billed Tropic Bird (Phaethon aethereus) is grabbed by a magnificent frigatebird (Fregata magnificens) in mid-flight to force it to regurgitate food which the frigatebird will then steal.

Nice capture.

We missed out on this when we were on Little Tobago last summer. Most of the Tropicbirds had gone though we were treated to a handful of returning Tropicbirds in the late afternoon including a nice White-tailed TB amongst the Red-billeds.
Still I would far rather have seen the 'pirates' at work!!
 
No apologies needed! The important thing is the moment captured... and as far as I'm concern, I prefer this long distance shot: the trees under the scene are lovely and the scene itself looks no so harsh from this angle. Thank for sharing this pic!
