Red-breasted Nuthatch and no reports
8 years ago from tomorrow, an irruption started with these Nuthatches so I wonder if another irruption is under it's way. If so, be prepared for a few more images of these guys/gals.
Red-breasted Nuthatches are mainly birds of coniferous woods and mountains which is my backyard minus the mountains ;)

.... I don't mind KC.... and if they're as well presented as this one I'll be happy LOL

That's a superb picture lass - well done.
A brilliant pose and a colourfully lit close up you have of this beaut KC, well done.
You absolutely nailed it KC. Outstanding clarity, color, and focus!! Excellent work. Lucky you, I have never seen one of these in the wild.
Wonderful lighting KC and this elegant, beautifully coloured bright-eyed little bird is captivating. I'm looking forward to more pictures of this species.

(Like Daniel I've never seen one. I did drive nearly 200 miles for one in Britain, only to arrive half a minute after the final sighting of it . Still, it's all the nicer when things do work out :)).
