Red Flasher (Panacea prola: Nyphalidae) Wingspan 6.5-75 cm (2.6-3.0 in). The Red Flasher gets it name because the underside of the hindwing is red without any markings. Cabaas Yankuam, Zamora-Chinchipe Province, Ecuador. Landscaped lodge grounds mixed with montane rainforest along the foothills of Cordillera del Condor and adjacent to Ro Nangaritza at 861 m (2,817 ft) elevation.

Ah, ok, so it flashes red from the underwing when it flies. If you hadn't mentioned that, I'd have guessed it got its name because whoever named it was colorblind ;)
