Red grouse in the rain

Red grouse in the rain

I was invited by Matthew Capper up to the upper peak district . What a place! It rained a lot we got a bit wet , but not drenched looking for ring ouzel which we heard but were elusive to the eye. Giving up on the ring ouzel We drove by a grouse moor and it was chucking it down. Matthew spotted this red grouse on a post and I managed a few shots of the bird getting pelted by the rain . I had a great day and Matthew makes some pretty good sandwiches!

Thank you Matthew

Great capture Adrian and it was certainly a good, if rather wet day.

Anyone wanting the recipe for the sandwiches can PM me!

Just found this stunning image of a bird I dream of seeing!!! o:) I'm terribly sorry for the three of you (AD, Matthew and the grouse) but I'm glad it was raining because those rain drops and the pearly feathers of the bird look fantastic! ;) Love the perspective too! Great job, Adrian!!! :t: :t: :loveme:
