Red-headed Woodpecker

Thanks for all the kind words on my last photo
This bird only comes by our area only once or twice a year. Stays for a day and is gone. --The book says that they eat acorns, beechnuts, and other nuts, insects, bird eggs and nestling, sap from sapsucker holes, fruit and berries. This year the woodpecker was eating suet that was hanging from our tree. I did have fruit out, but didn't see it eating from the dish, I could have missed it.

Another great shot of this gorgeous woody. Even one day would have been great for me!
