Red Kite above feeding station

Red Kite above feeding station (Milvus milvus)

Another shot of a Red Kite circling in anticipation above the feeding station in Dumfries and Galloway. This was taken a few minutes before the food was put out and the feeding frenzy started. Well worth a visit if you are in the area as well as following the Red Kite trail for great views of the birds at a number of locations

Been myself & can say well worth a visit. I counted 75 red kites, along with Buzzard & usual carrion. Nice place.

Wow, this is impressive. A dramatic image, every feather of spread wings and tail distinct, under a moody sky. OK, a feeding station makes it easier to get images of this species, but it's a fine achievement nonetheless.
