Red Kite perching
Although I have photographed Red Kites in Buckinghamshire many times I have never seen one perched but at Ashton Rowant nature reserve near Stockenchurch I discovered a forested area high on a ridge where the birds were. The light was not too favourable but I managed to capture this and other photographs. Such beautiful birds.

Oh my Louis.... what a great picture you've got of this kite. They really are beautiful birds, aren't they.

Very well done lad - thanks so much for showing him to us.

I had pretty good views of one at Kinnordy on Saturday, still quite rare birds in this area.

Amazing Kite perching. We don not see many perched Red Kites posted. Fabulous work Louis! TFS!

Thanks very much for all the positive comments - I plan to return to Ashton Rowant in about a month's time but on a much better day weather-wise in the hope I might just get an even better capture.
