Excellent flight shot of this red kite. Thank you for your comments and wishes. You easily realize the importance of being healthy when you are ill. Did not know that it is so difficult to capture a goshawk where you live because you got so many beautiful bird species in the UK.

I meant to reply earlier jb. To quote From the Woodland Trust: “Goshawks were all but extinct as a breeding bird in the UK by the end of the 19th century due to loss of woodland habitat and persecution from gamekeepers. Deliberate and accidental reintroductions have seen the population slowly recover, with an estimated 542 birds in 2017. However, both habitat loss and persecution remain a threat.”

British Goshawks remain very shy of human beings, more so than those on the European mainland, and it would not be possible to get a photo like the beautiful one you posted.
