Red-kneed
I got the impression that this Red-kneed Dotterel was something of a rare visitor to Centennial Park. There was sort of a "buzz" about him amongst the birders I encountered. I don't think I saw any others of his species on the trip. Extra glad I got a decent (croppable) shot of him. Not as good as the one Peter Day posted recently, but I would never expect that.

Cor!!! I bet you're pleased with that Ann... a lovely image this one.

I'd love to see a dotterel (tried to get one of ours once.... climbed all the way up a very steep mountain where they hang out, but not a whiff of one!)

Excellent work lass - very well done.

Not a species we see all that often and a beautiful image this is Ann!

A lovely low level shot in a pretty setting, Ann.

You're too kind, Ann! I've always thought any photo I get in a foreign country is to be treasured - you've often only got one opportunity, whereas I can go back and back till I've got the best one! It's a lovely clear shot!!
