Red-knobbed Coot

Red-knobbed Coot (Fulica cristata)

There seems to be only one or two of these birds wintering on the western Costa del Sol these years - this time it was the turn of a man-made lake at a golf course in Casares. Had to listen out for the shouts of "FORE" and so did the coot, which was on the water hazard in between the tee and the green on the 18th hole!! Happy New Year to all!!

LOL, I suppose he dived every time he heard the call, did he?

That's a great picture you've taken of this coot, and he carries your greetings beautifully Kevin - very well done.

May I wish you and your family a very happy 2019.
