Red-legged Partridge
This is a species I see at home... but usually running for cover! I've very few pictures of them at all.

This one was tidying up underneath the feeder, so it was a rather shady spot under the trees.
Habitat
Inland wood, and wetland nature reserve
Location
Sculthorpe Moor, Fakenham, Norfolk
Date taken
4 May 2015
Scientific name
Alectoris rufa
Equipment used
Fuji Finepix HS50
True in what you say Delia, every time I see one its off like a shot..lol. Great capture and well done.!!

Nice catch, glad it decided not to run for cover DT.
(BTW, saw your comment on the Ovenbird. Their name comes from the shape of their nests. From Allaboutbirds.com: "Its nest, a leaf-covered dome resembling an old-fashioned outdoor oven, gives the Ovenbird its name." )

Nice Frenchie capture Delia...Ten out of ten for spelling on this un, LOL.

You managed to spot it in that camouflage setting & capture it so well, Delia, super shot!! tfs.

Never seen one at a feeding station before, obviously well at home in the Sculthorpe reserve. Fine species, fine image Delia tfs.
