Red-Tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis)

The Red-Tailed Hawk did not capture this California Quail. It, instead, took it from a Coopers Hawk that had make the kill (I witnessed the kill myself, and I witnessed the subsequent theft, as well). Note the band on the hawks leg.
