Red-tailed Spider Hunter (Tachypompilus ferrugineus ferrugineus: Pompilidae) 1.5-2.5 cm (0.6- 1.0 in) long. On Peppervine (Ameplopsis arborea: Vitaceae).
Habitat
Urban setting. Floodplain of Carter Creek at ca. 88 m (289 ft) elevation.
Location
Austins Colony Park, Bryan, Texas, Brazos County, Texas, USA.

wonderful photo of this brightly colored spider wasp, Stanley, captured in a superb setting. I guess this one is less ferocious than the tarantula hawk? top quality work, many tfs!!!

A spider hunter.... I've heard of spiderhunter birds (but they're in a different continent LOL)

This is a beautifully coloured wasp(?) Stanley and a super picture you've taken of him my friend.
