I counted them all out and I ;)...well when I returned there were about 20 Blackbirds with them as well!

Incidentally, the horses made a useful ad hoc hide. They were already close to the edge of the field in the shelter of the tall hedge so I called them closer and walked along with them to get near to the birds, then just waited for some to come close enough for a shot. This one was still cropped quite a bit but one or two birds came very close but I couldn't get them all in focus - I was shooting from a standing position but dared not squat down to get level with them as any movement would have spooked them. Next time...
