Resting his tummy? (Sitta carolinensis)

It was very very cold and windy yesterday, and all day long I plied the birds with seeds, peanut butter and suet. This nuthatch was sampling some of everything all day long, and then towards late afternoon I spied him in an ash tree in our yard. He just sat there like this for something like 20 minutes, unusual for a nuthatch. I think he had to rest his tummy for a while!! lol
