Rhinoceros Beetle (Enema pan)

Rhinoceros Beetle (Enema pan: Scarabaeidae) Male. Ca. 4.5 cm (1.8 in) long. I thank my wife Gretchen for taking this picture of the beetle on my hand. She would not let me put it on hers for me to take the picture (lol).
Habitat
Eastern-slope of the Andes in the foothills at 528 m (1,732 ft) elevation.
Location
Villa Carmen Lodge, outside of Pilicopata, Cusco Department, Per.

What a wonderfully ferocious looking insect, those metallic plates and spikes recalling a miniature dinosaur. All credit to Gretchen for taking a fine picture of it!

Fascinating creature! I wonder what it means that his front legs are stretched forward and rear legs stretched out and upward.
 
Yikes! I'm with Gretchen, there's no way I would have him on my arm either! He's big!
