Rich pickings (Phylloscopus collybita)

My final thrill for the day yesterday was from an avenue of hanging birches I passed on my way out from the cemetery. The trees were packed with wee birds feeding on insects and catkins. There were uncountable numbers of Blue Tits, Siskins, Willow Warblers, Chaffinches, Chiffchaffs, and Tree Sparrows ... plus at least one Nuthatch. More crick-in-the-neck shooting gave some decent shots of all these species. This one, which I think is a Chiffchaff (note the dark leg), is probably not the best shot of the bunch, but I chose it for today to show a variety of settings across the set. I also think perhaps this one shows what s/he was eating. It's not sharp enough that I can zoom in and really see more than is showing here, but I think those "speckles" around the bill may be aphids.
