Hi Romy,
For the purposes of inserting this into the BF Database, this is called Paddyfield Pipit (Anthus rufulus). The taxonomy of this Pipit has only been cleared up a little bit in the last couple of years but there is still confusion arife for it.
The note on taxonomy in the Kennedy Guide says "Some authors treat the Asian forms of Anthus novaeseelandiae as 2 species - Richard's Pipit (Anthus richardi) and Paddyfield Pipit (Anthus rufulus) the race recorded in the Philippines."
The Kennedy Guide is now several years old and obviously, "some authors" has now evolved into a generality.
Nice shot. We have quite a few Richard's Pipit in our paddocks (Victoria, Australia). Very difficult to see until you are almost upon them and then they take off. Almost impossible to get a shot.
