I've wondered now and then whether Robins can be recognized individually by the specific patterns of their breasts, kind of like whales being regocnized by variations in the shapes of their tails ...
 
Yes I think so.....'Doc'.... I've got several in the garden with varying amounts of red/orange on their chests... They really do like to communicate with us don't they. They're always the first to swoop down when I fill the feeders and they come so close to me. As a kid one used to land on my hand when I offered food.... That's what started watching birds.
