Robin (Erithacus rubecula)

This young Robin was sitting on top of the bush until it fell off, I don't think it could fly properly, I was able to get very close to take the photo. Eventually as the light was fading it went hiding under the bush, I hope it survived the night as it wasn't there next morning.

Thank you all for your comments, it was lovely to be able to get so close. I was within inches when I took the photo, he didn't seem in the least bit frightened. When he fell on the grass and onto its back I was worried by the local ferrall cat which was doing its rounds, so slowly went up to it and it jumped on my finger, then I was then able to put it back on the bush where it was safe.

A superb capture in any format but very well suited to B&W.

Maybe a young Robin though instead of Wren?

Either way, it's a stunning photo.

Thanks Ian, I will change it once the voting is over. I was convinced it was a young Wren by its size never even thought of a Robin. Another one to remember.
