Rock Pigeon (Feral Pigeon) (Columba livia)

Introduced to North America by Europeans in the 1600's, the Rock Pigeon is now common across the United States and southern Canada. It is something of a nuisance around suburban bird-feeders, but this one was taking time out to rest on a tree limb (which conveniently gave me time to focus my scope and attach the camera).
Habitat
Wild rocky places with cliffs, as well as rural and urban settings.
Location
Bridgewater, New Jersey, USA
Date taken
06-Jun-2008
Scientific name
Columba livia
Equipment used
Digiscoped with Nikon 12.1 MP Coolpix P5100 camera...Nikon FSB-6 Bracket...Nikon 30X Wide DS Eyepiece...Nikon ED82-A Fieldscope
Super shot, Gordon.
They are pretty common in lots of countries but still great looking birds.
