Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Surely not my best photograph, but probably my best effort because these guys WILL NOT sit still. This little fellow eluded my lens for 2 seasons and from time to time, I would get a glimpse of that little flash of red on top of his head while looking for other birds, and for the longest time thought I was seeing things. Then, I managed this shot and in researching found that I wasn't crazy after all, when I would see that "flash of red".

I have the same problem with a couple redstarts around here. Seeing them is one thing, getting a lens on them quite another! Love the backlighting on this one. A superior capture and some very nice work, a beaut of a shot, well done!!
