Ruby-throated Hummingbird (female) (Archilochus colubris)

Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) female nectaring common sunflower (Helianthus annuus: Asteraceae). This was such a surprise to me because I had never seen a hummingbird nectar a common sunflower before.

Habitat
Gulf Coast Marshes and Prairies vegetation area, barrier island, Laguna Madre on the west side of the island and the Gulf of Mexico on the east side. Edge of a mesquite woodland at ca. 1 m (3.3 ft) elevation.
Location
West Sheepshead Street, South Padre Island, Cameron County, Texas, USA.
