Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris)

These little jewels are still around and I briefly saw another juvie here in the garden yesterday morning. It seems late to have hummers in the garden but it has been very warm all summer and yesterday was 83degrees F. A very warm day for the first day of fall.

This shot was from the same session as the last post. I really loved the wing position in this image. Such amazing little birds!

A splendid image. Great composition and detail. I like the position of the wings too, it looks as if the bird wanted to embrace the flowers.
