Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris)

These little jewels are still around and I briefly saw another juvie here in the garden yesterday morning. It seems late to have hummers in the garden but it has been very warm all summer and yesterday was 83degrees F. A very warm day for the first day of fall.

This shot was from the same session as the last post. I really loved the wing position in this image. Such amazing little birds!

Nice work, Deanne. Talking about warm days at the beginning of Autumn. We are getting over 100 degrees F here in LA. I long for Alaska now.

Michael, I don't envy you that 100 degree weather. Here in Southern NH we are supposed to get up to 90 degrees with 50 mph northwest winds today. Good grief! this is Sept 25th for goodness sakes!
