Ruddy Duck

Normally I am not a fan of silhouette type pictures, but in this one the bird species is obvious from the location and the silhouette-a Ruddy Duck, one of the stiff tail ducks. This was taken in the predawn hours at a wildlife reserve pond near where I live in Southern California.

I know what you mean Jim, but I love this picture. As you say there's really no doubt about the species, is there.

That water is such a beautiful colour too.

A tremendous image this - very well done lad.
