Nice pic Bob. Another bird I've never seen (there are so many). I used to go to North Padre Island every few years in February, but it was to find snakes, not birds. Now I guess I need to go again and see shorebirds I've never seen...
 
Padre Island is great in the Spring. You have a great place for birds near you, Gilbert Riparian Preserve. My son live 3 blocks from it.
 
Looks like I can see those Turnstone's in CA in winter, but I still need to see a lot of birds that are only found in TX. Yes, I've been to the Gilbert ponds a couple times, but right now it's too hot for birding there. The birds might be around, but I would probably melt looking for them...LOL
