Ruffed Grouse (Bonasa umbellus)

This particular grouse returned nearly a dozen times to my backyard eating the crab apples off of a tree. It was difficult to get a shot without overexposing the white on his/her belly, and not underexposing it's back. This one came through alright. Hope you enjoy it!

Yes, that's really lovely Rapala. A really handsome beast.

Nicely captured. Never able to get close to them, in the field I can only tell when they are near when they fly off.
