Ruffed Grouse (Bonasa umbellus)

It was sneaking around the yard, nibbling something off the Burning Bushes. Not sure if it was berries or bugs or both, but it spent quite a bit of time doing it.

What a gorgeous image of this Grouse Bill!

I used to see so many of them when I was a kid and we had a cabin in the Catskills.
