Rush Bird (2) (Limosa lapponica)

Another picture of a bird in a hurry! ;)

This must have been one of the dimmest Autumns I can remember. This attempt with waders at the Beach was hard, as they move very quick but still I'm happy with this result of a Godwit. My tactic is to sit on the stairs by the beach and wait until the tide comes in bringing the birds close to me. This Godwit considered it was too close and rushed when it passes in front of me! ;) In fact, it's practically a full frame. A pity the light wasn't better, I would have loved this pic to look neater! Oh, well, we can't have it all!

You did a great job with what you have to work with, Marian. :t: I am also finding slim pickings with my bird sightings so far. Wildlife is so unpredictable.

A super photograph of the Godwit Marian. I am still hoping to get a photograph of them down here in Napier.

;) A veruy beatutiful image, Marian, you were able to show us in detail the exquisite feather patterns of the bird.:t::t::t:

Great capture of a godwit, I love waders and good technique employed to bring the birds to you on the tide instead having to stalk the wildlife - job well done

Brilliant capture of this 'late I am late for a very important date' Godwit Lady Marian!! wonderful frame filling image Amiga, :t::t::t:

Wonderful Marian, just love how these birds find worms under water and about 12" in the sand, well done you.
