Russian Globe Thistle (Echinops exaltatus)

Inspired by Stanley, I thought I'd post one bird, one animal and one plant today. I really like the looks of these thistles. They grew wild here on the steppe, but I've seen them as a garden plant here in Norway.

.... yes, and I've a feeling I've seen them in dried flower arrangements too.

Echinops, we have them in our garden, the bees and other insects love them, tfs Doc

I am sure, thistles every where, regardless of genera attract insects and they also have beautiful inflorescences as long as you don't get personal with the plant they are gorgeous. This one is no exceptional. Gorgeous plant and picture Doc!!!!
