Sacred Kingfisher (Todiramphus sanctus)

Taken while on a boat on the Daintree river. These Kingfishers are mis-named as they are not fishing birds at all. As you can see his beak is very muddy from digging around in the muddy riverbank looking for crabs etc.

That is a super photograph of the Kingfisher Julien!! Here in NZ they eat insects and I have seen one eating a mouse.
