Salt Marsh Tiger Moth (Estigmene acrea acrea: Erebidae) Wingspan 4.5-6.8 cm (1.8-2.7 in).
Habitat
Post Oak Savannah Vegetational Area. Open park-like setting with scattered post oaks at ca. 91 m (300 ft) elevation.

Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, USA.

Excellent shot Stanley, with amazing fine detail (including the antennae, when I put my reading glasses on). The markings are beautiful.

LOL with the spots, you'd think it would be a 'leopard' wouldn't you!!!
