Same park, 6 months later

Same park, 6 months later (Aix galericulata)

In January I made a short trip to Liverpool, partly to pick up haggis for a Burn's Night dinner, partly so Jan could have the house to himself and host a lutefisk party (I can't stand the stuff), but mostly just to visit our daughter. Winter in Sefton Park is quite different, but still very birdy. Differences are: the weather and light, of course (it was actually snowing the first day of the visit), but also the birds. For one thing, there are Mandarins that breed on the Wirral and some of them always come to spend the Winter months at Sefton Park.

They are such beautiful ducks and this is one spectacular image of this pair Ann!

I had to look up lutefisk, Ann, and don't blame you for avoiding the party!

Such a colourful shot of these lovely mandarins.
